Make people feel important
- The inspirational leader makes people feel important, because they are important. But it's important for them to realize that you know they're important, you feel they're important. So you have to tell them, you have to show them. So I think there are various ways that you can show people how they contribute to the overall success of the organization. One easy way is to have some sort of plan for what you're doing, where everyone can see their part of the plan. And of course what I'm talking about here is our old favorite the Gantt chart. And I do love a good Gantt chart, and please do check out my project management training courses that I've made. But if you've got a plan that shows the stages of what's going to happen when and who's doing it, and everybody can think, oh that's me in there, I'm doing that bit, and you can tell them, that's your bit and it's really key.
