Make use of breakfast and lunch
From the course: 21 Opportunities for Better Networking
Make use of breakfast and lunch
- There's a book called, "Never Eat Alone." The basic premise is that you're wasting your time eating solo, when you could use every meal as an opportunity to connect with someone that would expand your network. Start thinking of lunch as a business opportunity and not something that you should cram between meetings. If you're at a nine-to-five job, you can still use lunches as a means of connecting to people outside your company. Cross-pollinate with peers from other companies, find mentors and buy them lunch, seek out people who are doing what you eventually want to do and have breakfast or coffee.
