- If you aren't going to make a decision unilaterally or independently, then you're headed for some kind of collaboration. And whether that collaboration is light, such as asking for input in a quick email or through an individual conversation, or it's significant, such as working with a team to dive deep into the data in a series of meetings, it's all collaboration. And here are a few things that you can do that will help you make better collaborative decisions. Specifically, I have five tips. First, don't ask if you've already decided. Now let me just stop you right there. Have you ever been on a team where the boss asked you a question, but you felt like they'd already decided and they were just asking because maybe they thought they were supposed to, or they were hoping you'd come up with their answer?
