Making an independent decision

- I know you're familiar with this type of decision-making. A question comes up, a problem comes in, a challenge arises, and you make a decision. You don't consult with anyone, you just make the call. Sometimes that directed independent decision-making approach is the best option, even for key decisions. But before you just do that instinctively, let's look at the pros and cons of this approach. The pros for independent decision-making are simple. It's the fastest way to decide. Yeah, you might deliberate and spend a little bit of time, but it takes way less time for you to think about it than it does to bring everybody in and get a bunch of input. Because you don't need that time to talk to other people, it's the fastest way to make a decision.
