- When you've been in sales for a long time, you get to know some buyers really well. There's business to be done, solutions developed, and there's mutual respect created, but there's also a professional friendship that gets established too. I've always been a warm greeter to people I know well and when appropriate, I've not been shy about giving a mutual hug to someone too. Candidly, I don't think those hugs are going to happen again for a long time if ever. Hugs, handshakes, kisses on the cheek and even close proximity in someone's office is now up for review. The rules and guidelines for how we handle personal space and contact with colleagues and business connections is forever changed.
