- Now, although this course is called Planning Your Life, I actually don't think you can plan your whole life from the beginning. It's too difficult. So I want to say some things about having goals, but not being attached to them. I think if you are absolutely obsessed with one goal, there is a risk you might not achieve it, and that would make you unhappy. So we want to have things that we're aiming for, but we don't want to be totally attached to them, and I'm going to try and explain what I mean about that. So the first thing is you can't plan your whole life. When you're age, let's say 20, it's a really good idea to have a goal that you're going to aim for, perhaps by the time you're 30, but beyond that, who knows? So that's just a starting point, that first goal, and you may even find that that first goal is not the right thing for you, but at least you've started down there, and once you've started the journey,…
