- You may be thinking, where do I start? How do I lead a team through this process and come out with a set of powerful OKRs? The more understanding, buy-in, and ownership of an OKR, the better. Bring the team you need to own the OKR into the design process as early as possible. A hybrid approach to OKR design captures both top-down and bottom-up thinking. This approach to strategy and planning includes leadership choosing the objectives, the top-down part, while the subject matter experts, or employees executing the OKR set the KRs, or the how to get there, the bottom-up part.
