- To be seen as a leader, you have to take risks. And one of the best ways to do this is with public speaking. Of course, I've read articles that said that people are more afraid of public speaking than death and that's terrible because people miss out on a really big opportunity to demonstrate their leadership, to convey what they know because they're afraid to give presentations or speeches. And the truth is, there are three big reasons why you should feel pretty comfortable about giving presentations and speeches. First, keep in mind that whenever you're giving a speech, chances are good that you know more about the topic than almost everyone in the room. That should give you great confidence.
