- I've heard it said that the average person has between 60 and 90,000 thoughts per day, and that the majority of those thoughts are the same ones you had yesterday, and the majority of those thoughts are negative. An enormous percentage of those thoughts are self-criticism, and particularly, after you've just been rejected or had some kind of failure or setback, it's easy to let that tape in your head that's criticizing you, that's saying, why did you try that, that was so stupid. You were, you were too much, you were too loud. You didn't do it right. To let those voices take over. Now the great thing about the inside of your mind is that you have almost total control over it. So if you're going to be thinking something, and apparently you are, you might as well focus on something positive.
