- You may have already done several video conferences from home or from a remote location, but have you given much thought to the set up of your camera? If you're like most people who just flip open their laptop and hit start there are a lot of things you can do to enhance the video experience. Not only does putting just a little more thought make a huge difference in how you look but it can also eliminate distractions and awkward angles. So the first thing, and the easiest thing to do is to make sure your camera is elevated. This means if you're conferencing through a laptop and your camera is too low you can take a book or a box to elevate the screen. By doing so it gives a more straight on perspective of you. If you just set the laptop down your camera will actually be lower and filming up which isn't the most flattering look. By positioning your camera eye level it'll also affect your posture.
