Practice: Grow humility

- This practice is to help you develop humility and grow appreciation of others' contributions. Find a quiet space and shut off any distractions. Sit comfortably, spine straight, shoulders relaxed, feet on the floor. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take three long deep breaths, counting to four as you inhale and as you exhale. Let's start. Inhale, (inhales) 2, 3, 4. Exhale, (exhales) 2, 3, 4. Inhale, (inhales) 2, 3, 4. Exhale, 2, 3, 4. Inhale, 2, 3, 4. Exhale, 2, 3, 4. Continue to breathe normally. Now, bring to mind what has gone right in the last 24 hours. Perhaps you made progress on a work project. As you take a breath, bring to mind the people who may have contributed. How did they help? As you visualize them, you can name them if you want and say a silent thank you. You may think about the last meal you had. There were likely many people who contributed.
