Preparedness is key
- Zig Ziglar tells us that "success occurs when opportunity meets preparation." He didn't say when opportunity meets wishes or plans, but preparation. You literally need to be ready to the best of your ability for when opportunity, good or bad, happens. And let me be clear. That doesn't mean you will be ready for every single situation. It just means you will be prepared to problem-solve. So I want to get you prepared to be courageous, not only in overcoming failure, but overcoming any obstacle that gets in your way. First, I want you to understand why being prepared is so critical to being a courageous leader. Being prepared can ease anxiety and doubts. Preparation gives you time to slow down your thoughts, specifically the reptilian part of your brain which controls your fight-or-flight emotions.
