- What makes a leader productive? Let's consider the two parts of this phrase, leadership and productivity. Leadership is about inspiring others to grow and take action. Leadership isn't about a title, it's about a mindset. And I believe anyone can have this mindset. I've seen youth inspire their friends to become better people. I've seen people in prison inspire those around them to move past their previous mistakes. I've seen customer service reps inspire their entire company to a higher level of customer care. To me, inspiring others and helping them grow to become leaders themselves is the truest expression of leadership. Now what about productivity? Productivity is about consistently taking focused action on that which is most valuable. Productivity isn't about doing stuff haphazardly, here there, working constantly just so you can say you were busy. It's certainly not about doing other people's jobs for them.…
