Providing direction in change

- The number one thing employees want from leaders in the face of sudden change is clear direction. Yet only 15% say they get it. Ouch. But as a leader, you could buck the trend by using the directional Venn diagram, a tool to help you provide direction in the face of sudden change. The diagram illustrates that when you share a directional agenda, set of vision, and anchor the organization, it results in quick, clear direction, critical in times of sudden change. It's the same approach one of my clients used when one of their manufacturing plants burned down, which required them to rethink their business model and quickly provide direction for understandably worried employees.
