From the course: 21 Opportunities for Better Networking
Reach out to everyone first
- My business partner coined a phrase that he uses all the time. It's the audacity to reach out. If you want to connect with someone, even someone you think is famous or out of your league, try reaching out anyhow. I get emails and LinkedIn messages from people like you who have seen my courses, and unless it hits my spam trap, I reply. You'd be surprised at how few people take the time to reach out to someone they admire or who they just want to connect with. It's easy to introduce yourself, ask a question, and make a connection. Sometimes, that will lead to something that you may never have expected, and that's the beauty of networking. By building real connections with genuine intent, you're opening the door to serendipity. You never know what might come from those relationships, so get out there and connect.
