- Now you know the three major approaches that you can take when making a key decision. You can make it independently, with collaboration, or through consensus. Let's look at two key trade-offs that will help you decide which approach to use. Now rather than thinking about these three approaches and then choosing the one that you are most comfortable with or have used in the past, there are other factors to consider, and let's think about those now. On one hand, we must consider how much agreement or commitment we need from the team, and on the other hand, we must think about how much time is needed or available to make the decision.
