- One of my favorite business partners that I've ever worked with was a guy who was so driven he was able to keep his head down and moving forward at all costs. He was amazing at staying focused on the goal and making sure that we were hitting our goals on time and on budget. I always seek out people like this to be on my team, those people that are laser focused on accomplishing tasks. They're called producers. I like to have producers around me because I know that I'm not always the most focused one. Producers are vital components of your team, because these people take on the role of being often directive, but seldom affiliative. They are great at filling a task leadership role as opposed to the socio-emotional leadership role that relaters naturally fill. So how can you recognize producers?
