- Now you have goals and measures, that's not enough. We must have processes to track those measures so we can review our progress, is part of our job as a manager to do that. So how do we do that? First create a dashboard. Just like in your car, you can see what you need when you need it. Make sure people have a way to see what their progress is and if that information isn't automatically updated, have a way to manually update it, have a process, make sure that someone's responsible for making that happen. Then encourage people to review before meetings. We don't come to meetings and have you talk as the manager about what's going on, this is a collective conversation. So encourage people to come to the meetings prepared so that we can discuss the progress together during the meeting.
