- This past year, I had the opportunity to speak in Latin America, was the very first time I'd ever worked in Latin America and I was working actually in Columbia. I had a presentation for over 600 dealer owners across countries throughout Latin America. Now, I had done my research, I'd done my homework, I'd talked with the meeting planner extensively, but I was really caught off guard when I showed up. And while I knew that it was a relationship oriented group of people, I did not realize how important partying and really staying out all night and talking with people was far more important than actually doing the business at hand. And the first night, I didn't pay too much attention to it. I thought it would be fine if I slipped out about eight or nine o'clock.
