- Wherever you're working, whether you enjoy it or not, you should always be working on self-development because your one asset is your brain. That's really all you've got. Nowadays, as you move from job to job, is what have you got in your brain? So you've got to work on that and self-development will help with your career generally, because it'll give you skills that will allow you to go down different career paths. It'll make you more secure. It's going to affect where you go with the rest of your life. So, the first thing I would say is always volunteer. If they want somebody to go abroad to visit a customer, if they want somebody to speak at a conference, whatever it is, volunteer for it, 'cause you're going to learn from it. And even if it doesn't go very well, at least you've learned from it. And who knows what may happen when you visit that customer in a foreign country, maybe you'll discover that you love…
