- Listen, I don't need to extol the virtues of goal setting, we all know that why they're valuable, even if we don't always set them. If you want some additional help in setting goals, check out "Leading Yourself" by Elizabeth and Lisa McCloud, or "Performance Management: "Setting Goals and Managing Performance" by Todd Dewitt right here, LinkedIn learning. Now there's one big problem. People make all the effort to set the goals, and then it's like they finished. Setting the goals, isn't the end, it's just the starting point. See, I don't want you to just set goals, I want you to set goals, so you can achieve them. Set goals to get goals, is what I like to say. And that's what we're trying to do, while we're managing for results. Right? So, as we get started in thinking about this, I want you to remember this important point.
