- What about that risky option? What if you're doing a job, you're a bit bored, and an option comes up that you could take, but it's risky. Maybe your fun friend who you really like is doing a startup and they say, "Come and work with me. "We could do this together. "It could be the dream team." Should you take it? You'll be in at the ground floor. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and all of that. And I would say, be really careful about this because first of all, finance. If there's a risk to the money, you've still got to pay for your mortgage and your food and your family or whatever, so I think you've got to have at least six months' money saved up. If you can live happily for six months on your savings, then you can afford to take some risk but if not, then I wouldn't do it. The second thing is try it in parallel if you can.
