- Now we come to the opening offers, you've got to make an offer, they've got to make an offer. And there's four things to know about this. I'm going to zoom through these quite quickly because we'll look at these in much more detail when we get to the applied case studies later on this course. But the four things that you need to consider with opening offers are number one, ideally you don't open first. If you can avoid opening it would be great, get them to open. And that's because it might be good news, if you can get them to quote a price it might be surprisingly low. And if you are selling, if you can get them to say what sort of budget they are looking at, it might be surprisingly high. And if you are looking at timescales or whatever it might be good news, so get them to open first if you possibly can. You also learn a bit about their position when you get them to open and that's useful information.…
