Systems roadmap
- In order to bring systems thinking and documentation fully into your business, you're going to need a roadmap that identifies all of the systems that you need today, and those that you're going to need in the future. But let me warn you, if you come in on Monday and you sit around with a team and develop this list of 400 systems, probably what's going to happen is that list is going to go in a drawer, and nobody's going to do anything. You have to create a master plan, but then you also have to find a way to implement that plan that's realistic, given the fact that everybody has other work to do. Organize the systems that your business needs around folders. Use the tools that are available today. This is not a three-ring binder kind of thing that you pass out once a year.
