Talent development: Progression and succession

- We all have talents, whether they're skills built from experience like designing new systems of work, an interest in something, maybe the analysis of statistics, or a preference for certain areas, something like coaching other people to learn new things. We may sometimes refer to our talent as a gift or a natural flair for something. I speak a lot in public forums and some people say that about me. Ah, you're a natural on stage. Yet I know I've had to work hard at it, learn from others, practice and practice again. Sometimes we have to put ourselves into uncomfortable positions to learn and test ourselves. Only then might we reveal some of our hidden talents. The thing is we want to get better at things, often called mastery.
