- I mean, let's face it. I'm old. When I started my business, I bought a fax machine. And all we really had was voicemail and email. Well, you probably remember that. But today, we got a lot more tools than just our phone and our email. And so, if we want to be effective as remote leaders, we've got to become friends with the technology. You know, I could date this course very quickly if I started using specific technologies and names of tools. So, I won't do that. Whatever technology tools you have, they fall into two buckets. First, synchronous tools. Tools that are designed for us to use in real-time or very close to real-time communication. And asynchronous tools, tools that are designed for me to communicate when I'm ready and for you to respond when you're ready. So now we have a framework, synchronous tools and asynchronous tools.
