Types of behavior assessments

- People have been putting others into personality styles for literally thousands of years. The Hippocratic tradition identified people as sanguine, choleric, melancholic or phlegmatic. And it noted that those that were melancholic should drink wine to counter the black bile. Currently, there are over 2,500 personality assessments on the market. With the vast number of assessments out there, it's important to understand what types of assessments there are and how organizations use them so that you can be prepared to use them effectively in your own organization's leadership and teams. The first category are assessments that are used for specific context or skills. These claim to measure things like critical thinking skills, motivation, learning styles, or conflict styles among many others.
