Use mirroring
- Humans like people similar to them. It's just an instinctive tribal bias that we all have built into our DNA. If you look at groups of close friends they're all very similar. They speak with the same slang. They wear the same clothes. Some even laugh the same as each other. That's because it's a two-way interaction of mimicking those we like, and those who like us mimicking us in return, that is called mirroring and it's totally subconscious. However, if you bring mirroring into your conscious it can be a really easy and incredibly powerful tool for turning people from strangers to friends and therefore building trust. Now I'm not saying you should get the same haircut as your prospect, start copying their laugh or buying the same closes them but you should mirror minor behaviors when you spot them.
