Use peak curiosity as a strategic tool

- What's the second thing that you want to buy right now? Why did I ask you about the second thing? What you're experiencing right now, or what I suspect you're experiencing, is called peak curiosity. Peak curiosity is the state in which a person experiences maximum curiosity and that itchy desire to reduce the level of curiosity with information. But wait, why would you want to reduce curiosity? Because it's a tool. Sometimes you want more of it, sometimes less. The peak curiosity curve will show you how applied curiosity works. The Y axis of the peak curiosity curve is curiosity. On the X axis is familiarity. Where the X and Y intersect, zero-zero, there is no curiosity and no familiarity, makes sense. We aren't curious about the things we know zero about. Way out in highly familiar territory, you'll see that curiosity levels peter out. It turns out that we aren't curious about things we're extremely familiar with.
