- Someone asked me recently, "Do I have to share my leadership visual with anyone?" And the answer is of course not. Sharing your story, especially if you've added some creativity to your visual, can feel very vulnerable, I get that. So I never pressure anyone to share. That said, I believe strongly that sharing our stories is what helps connect us to one another, precisely because there's an element of vulnerability. Have you ever had the experience of a leader sharing their story and suddenly you saw them not just as the boss, but as a whole person, with a life full of ups and downs, just like the rest of us? I sure have. And I've also noticed that it's been easier to look beyond one single mistake when I know where someone's coming from and where they're hoping to go.
