- The tools that bring life to accounting data seem to be everywhere nowadays. Now as a manager, this can be super exciting because when used effectively, these products such as Tableau, Power BI, and SAP, make it super easy to visualize and digest otherwise complex data. But, before taking the plunge and investing in these sophisticated tools, allow me to share a cautionary tale with you. It was 2009, and I was in a vendor sales pitch meeting. Yes, you know the ones I'm talking about. The exemplars of persuasive marketing. The vendor brought in an army of people. They had the technical team, the sales people, the account manager, the note taker, and some people, that I swear were there just to look good.
