- What if I'm not an expert on money? Totally okay and totally normal. Having this nervous and anxiousness about just talking about money is something that we see every day. Most five and six-year-olds, though, are ready, because they've already developed the skills necessary to understand basic money concepts such as identifying coins, even figuring out how to count change and matching small amounts of money to items that they are ready to buy, so this is the time, and we can definitely get started.
