What are the actual consequences?
- Part of taking a clear eyed look at the lessons of rejection is to see what has it really cost you? Here are three examples of rejection and the actual consequences or lack thereof. First the I got passed over for a promotion rejection. In this case, you haven't actually lost anything, just your fantasy of what might've been. And while that dream is sweet you are actually still right where you were before. It hasn't actually cost you anything. Nothing really has changed. So what's the lesson of that kind of rejection? It's in the strength of that fantasy. That dream that you created of your future is a strong indicator of your desire to make a better future for yourself. So take the energy of that dream and see if you can't move forward on that. Next there's the, all that work and none of the payoff rejection that results in opportunity costs.
