What is different about remote projects?
- If you've recently found yourself working on a remote project, it may feel like you've been working a little bit harder to get things done. You're right, it is more challenging working on a remote project. For starters, you and your team are going to have to establish new ways of working, especially if you're usually in the same location. As a project manager, you have to spend more time establishing how you'll communicate and how you'll build rapport with your virtual team. Next, you'll need to find ways to balance the autonomy and independence of your team member with just the right amount of oversight. This establishes trust both ways. You show trust in your team members to get their work done and they trust you to support them without micromanaging them.
