What is effective feedback?
- We've all experienced bad communication. Someone barges in, starts right in on what they have to say, then leaves without even giving you a chance to respond or participate at all. There's little regard for the relationship, little positivity, and zero back and forth. So in this lesson, I want to make sure you never make that mistake. And it's pretty simple if you follow these two basic concepts for effective feedback. Know who your recipient is and how to structure your communication so that they can understand and apply what you're saying. As the person delivering the message, it's your job to fully understand the situation and make sure that the recipient can take in what you're saying. It's your responsibility to get on their level. If you're teaching math to a third grader, your job is to teach it in a way that they can learn it. If they aren't getting it, you don't give up, you find a different way to teach it.…
