- News organizations were among the first businesses to move online. In their early days they took a lot of their print stories and reproduced them in digital format. Many still do that today but they've added complex computer graphics, online videos and much more in an effort to inform the public. Fortunately, they've stuck to something practices after all these decades that can help us differentiate their websites from others that may publish less credible information. Specifically, credible news organizations will proudly display their name and the names of their journalists. They will cite their sources and provide more information about themselves for those who want it. The reason is that journalists have long agreed that their readers, viewers and listeners deserve as much information as possible about the integrity of the information they are receiving.
