What if you don't negotiate?

- So, it's possible that they're going to say, how much do you want? And you're going to come out with a number. But it's also possible they're going to say, this is how much the job is. And then you've got to decide whether to take it or whether to negotiate. And what if you don't negotiate? Well, let's just think about my little phrase instead of yes or no, because you can always negotiate instead of a yes or a no. I think a yes would be quite disastrous really, because if they say this is the amount we pay, that's an opening offer, they're probably expecting you to negotiate. And if you don't, you're just saying goodbye to a load of money. So, suppose you say, all right, then I'll take it. And you say yes, but you're not that happy, you're now starting in a new job the are not very happy with. Now, even if you are happy, suppose they offer quite a decent amount of money and you think, yeah, I'll take that.…
