What you should know

- [Instructor] There are some things that you will need if you intend to work along with me in the course. If you have prior experience creating simple Power Apps, for example, a canvas app or a model-driven app, or experience using Microsoft Power Automate to create a workflow, that will give you some context for what you will be learning about the AI Builder. But that really isn't necessary for you to take this course and work along with me. What you do need is some software and some permissions. You need to have a license for Microsoft Power Apps and a license for the Microsoft AI Builder. There is currently a free trial for Power Apps, and once you are using Power Apps, you will then be prompted, the first time you try to build a model, to get a free 30-day license for the AI Builder. If your intention then is to learn, both of these licenses can be obtained freely. You will also need to have permission to read the entities in the Common Data Service in the environment for which you want to create models. And you will also need to have permission to create new entities in the Common Data Service. If you don't have these permissions, you'll want to talk to your Dynamics 365 or Power Platform administrator. And if this isn't something that they want to provide this might take you back, then, to getting a license for a trial and learning on your own. Because when you set up a new trial for Microsoft Power Apps you also will have access to a new environment that will have the Common Data Service. If you simply want to watch, you don't need any of this, but if you want to work along with me then you need appropriate licensing and appropriate permissions to work in the Microsoft Power Platform and with the Common Data Service.
