- So what are the pros and cons of my six options for a career? So I thought it'd be interesting to look at time, money and happiness for during. So how much time do you have while you're going through your career? How much money will you earn for each of these options and how happy might you be for each of these options. But then when you retire, how much time do you get in retirement and how much money will you have in retirement? And then finally, I thought we ought to look at the risk of each of the options. So let's have a look at a chart that summarizes all of this for you. So if we start by looking at the corporate ladder career, going up the corporate ladder, clearly that's a good option for money, but you're not going to have much time while you do it.
