Why do people cover?

- Covering at work is way more common than you think, in fact, if we look at who's covering at work the numbers are really interesting. LGBTQ individuals cover more than any other cohort at 83%; black at 79%; women of color 67%; women 66%; Hispanics 63%; even straight, white men cover at 45%. Now you might be thinking to yourself, "Hold up, straight white men are covering "in the workplace? "What do they have to cover about?" If you think back to the diversity items on your iceberg, examples of white men covering could be things like coloring gray hair to appear younger, saying you're leaving for a meeting when you're really leaving to go coach your daughter's soccer game, covering veteran status or class background if your parents weren't in the corporate workforce that you're in now.
