Why is feedback so important?
- Did you know that airplanes are off course over 90% of their flight time, and yet, they still manage to land at the designated airport at the designated time. How is this so? Because the pilot uses a series of indicators, both technical and human, to see when they're off course. With this feedback, the pilot corrects the course to arrive at the destination on schedule. As a supervisor, you must take that same mindset. Determine the destination, chart the course, set expectations and milestones, and observe the operation in real time to make the proper course corrections along the way.
