Why is your well-being important?

- We need to remain happy and healthy for two reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, it's just our own well-being. There's no point in having this discussion if you're on the brink of a meltdown. Your targets, your commission, the company's performance, everything is irrelevant if you are not happy and healthy. When you're falling subject to anxiety, burnout, or regular rejection, it's hard to put yourself first because you're lost. You're not thinking straight and you're not looking at the facts. But, your own well-being, be it mental or physical, should be your absolute number one priority and your employer is very likely to feel the same. In an age of social media and total transparency, it's easy to get inside your own head and think I must be rich, successful, and have nice things to show off to the world. But that's not the case. Your health, happiness, and overall well-being is priceless. So don't give it up just for the sake of having more money than your neighbor. Now, the second reason you need to remain well is to keep your performance high. I just told you to ignore your commission, your target, your company performance if you're not happy and healthy. And that's partly because you'll never hit them if you don't look after yourself. People are drawn to happiness and confidence. And this applies in every social avenue of life, in friendship and romance, but most importantly in work. And I don't mean have confidence like in the "Wolf of Wall Street". I mean, be sure in yourself, be comfortable in your own skin, and know that you can deliver on what you say you will. People don't want to do business with someone who isn't confident in their own abilities and what they can deliver, because it will make them, the customer, feel that you won't deliver. And even if you do, it wouldn't be valuable to them. Now remember, there's a fine line between arrogance and confidence. Arrogance will get you nowhere and will turn people off. Confidence will get people to want to place their business and trust with you. And with that, you'll naturally be selling more and hitting your targets with ease. You'll also have a clearer head to implement the other strategies and ideas to grow even further. So with good well-being directly affecting our performance at work, it's an obvious thing to focus on and improve.
