- There's a way to resolve conflict with a win-win instead of a win-lose, or lose-lose. Conflict doesn't have to be destructive. In fact, conflict can be constructive and promote adaptability. In this video, I will show you three steps you can take to understand, resolve, and learn from conflict and promote adaptability. First, if a conflict exists, acknowledge it. Pretending conflict doesn't exist promotes confusion, uncertainty, and polarization. When you address the conflict and bring it into the light, people will be relieved. Ask for people's input on how they see the conflict from their point of view. Show respect for each person's perspective. Focus on the needs, concerns, and feelings that the conflict causes. Sometimes the best way to do this is on the white board. List the conflict at the top, then list points of view, concerns, needs, et cetera in categories underneath.
