Wired to connect
- It can be hard to remember sometimes, but we humans were meant to connect. Every day in the news, we are showered with images, stories and messages that tell us we are separate and disconnected human beings. How could they do that? Heck, every day at work, someone might do something that blows our mind in that really kind of way. That's when it's helpful to remember that underneath all the divisiveness and world turmoil, the microwaving of leftover fish in the staff kitchen, really, and not refilling the copy paper again, we are all wired to connect, really. Connection and relationship have been basic human needs since the beginning of our existence. For centuries, humans have existed as tribal beings reliant on one another for survival like hunter gatherers. We might think that that type of thinking is not necessary now, but that's not true. We may be even more reliant on each other now than we were before.…
