Working with high-conflict people

- Research by the Gallup Association says that healthy relationships strengthen teams, promote engagement, and increase productivity. But let's face it, it doesn't take a white paper to understand that high-conflict behaviors contribute to turnover, absenteeism, stress, and illness. It just takes experience. In this course, you'll learn how to identify high-conflict behaviors and methods to ask for behavior change. We'll also explore how culture influences your ability to manage conflict. And if you think you're powerless, I have a surprise for you. I'll demonstrate a method to set appropriate boundaries so you don't fall victim to someone else's bad behavior. I'm Marlene Chism, and I'm a consultant, author, and executive educator. I work with managers and leaders who want to develop the skills and mindsets that create accountable cultures. One thing to note. While this course is full of practical tips and tools for working with conflict in the workplace, it's not meant to be a replacement for proper medical care. And it's not a substitute for the professional care of a doctor or a therapist. So keep that in mind as we go. And that means practice. But for now, join me right here on LinkedIn Learning to learn more about working with those who tend to exhibit conflict behaviors.
