- Marketing is about persuasion, and the way you can persuade someone is to tell a better story. There's usually more than one way to tell any story. To illustrate this, consider two versions of the classic children's tale, "Three Little Pigs." All right, here's the first version. There were three pigs, and two of them didn't do a very good job building their houses. A wolf came along and took them out. The third one was much smarter, so he survived the attack of the wolf. Here's the introduction to the second version. I'll just give you a bit. Once upon a time, there were three little pigs, and the time came for them to leave home and seek their fortunes.
