- So when you're preparing for a job interview, you've obviously got to think about all the questions you might be asked and, you know, "What's your biggest strength? What's your biggest weakness?" And all these questions. But as well as that, you do need to think a little bit about the pay negotiation. And there are several things you need to prepare. Now I think the first one is to think about what your opening offer's going to be. And your opening offer is going to be based mainly on research. It's going to be on what's the going rate for this type of job. And then going on from there, how much might you get for this type of job? 'Cause your opening offer has got to be above what you might get. Just in case you can get the best deal out there. So that's the opening offer. We'll come back to that more later.
