The case for giving back

(rock music) (upbeat music) - People really like simple answers to complex problems. Take success, for example. One of my favorite topics. Most people think that success is simple. It's just about working really hard. You know, there's a lot more to it. (blender whirring) I mean, think about it. You've got to understand goals, persistence, communication skills. It's just not that simple is it? So here's something really huge. I want you to think about all of the assets that you were given at birth and all of the things that other people did for you along your journey. I mean, let me pick on myself. I'm tall, six-foot-four. It's nice. Did you know that height is related to social status across many different cultures. That's wonderful, but I didn't earn it. I mean, I'm smart, but I didn't earn that. LinkedIn discovered me instead of somebody else. And you know what, I didn't earn that either. I was born…
