- Do you remember the children's story about the little engine that could? Over and over, he said, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can." He wasn't as strong as the big engines, but because he thought he could, it turned out that he could do what seemed impossible. To be successful at disruption, you will need to swap out the old beliefs that are holding you back for new beliefs that will move you forward. Culture is made up of beliefs and the behaviors that come from those beliefs. To change your culture, you need to change your beliefs and behaviors. And I bet that there's plenty of things about your culture that you'd like to change. Beliefs that may be holding you back include: "We need permission to act."
