- If you're a kangaroo, then in some ways, I admire your ability to have fun, 'cause kangaroos are great at having fun. They have no goals, they're not efficient, but they have fun. Originally I called the kangaroo the hedonist, and I do admire hedonists, but I think there are some snags to hedonism, and the first one is, is it sustainable as you get older? So in your 20s, you can just have loads of fun, but what about when children come along? What about when you get a mortgage? What about when your career becomes a bit more demanding? Can you continue just to be a kangaroo? And maybe you can, but I think there's a risk that it won't be sustainable, and suddenly you'll be in difficulties. And also, even if it is sustainable, will you get frustrated? So I used to play in a band, and the other guys in the band were all kangaroos, and I was an efficient greyhound by the way, so I was going around in circles, organizing…
